Pinterest Offers New Analytics Solution

If your advertisers have invested their time and resources in creating a presence on Pinterest, then it will be valuable to know that the social network recently launched a new, free analytics tool for site owners to determine the impact their account is having for their over all marketing strategy.

Are your advertisers on Pinterest? If not, there’s a good chance they should be! Pinterest offers a great opportunity for your advertisers to connect with various demographics within their client base. The virtual pin board gives businesses a creative outlet to display their products and services, but also pin and repin content that isn’t necessarily derived from their own businesses, but reaffirm their brand to create dynamic customer relations. If your advertisers have invested their time and resources in creating a presence on Pinterest, then it will be valuable to know that the social network recently launched a new, free analytics tool for site owners to determine the impact their account is having for their over all marketing strategy.

According to Mashable’s article, “Pinterest Introduces Analytics Platform,” the web-based analytics tool will offer site owners the chance to track the reach of their account. If your advertisers’ websites connect to their Pinterest account with links and “Pin It” buttons, the analytics tool will track how many pinners and pins are collected from their website. Pinterest’s analytics tool will also monitor the number of visitors and impressions on users’ accounts, as well as the amount of referral traffic from their Pinterest account to their websites. It will gauge this traffic based upon clicks and the number of unique visitors.

Since the analytics tool is free, Mashable’s Lauren Indvik noted that the features are relatively basic, and therefore will not drive customers away from other, more in-depth Pinterest analytics tools such as Pinfluencer. However, Indvik also wrote that this is a step in the right direction for Pinterest, where other social networks failed in the past. With the free analytics tool, in addition to their recently added business accounts Pinterest is slowly unveiling their advertising offerings. By starting off with a free and basic analytics solution, Pinterest is easing users into the new-and-improved Pinterest for businesses.

If your advertisers are serious about using Pinterest, let them know how monitoring their account’s impact and reach with the social network’s new analytics (with no additional cost to them!) could do wonders for understanding the effectiveness of their social media marketing strategy — how to create it, improve it and build upon it.
